Salary Range: $140,000 to $150,000 Annually, depending on experience

About the Role

A large, complex organization is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to support an enterprise-wide digital transformation and data services initiative. This role blends strategic architecture leadership with hands-on technical execution, focusing on the design, integration, and optimization of scalable data platforms that enable mission-critical analytics, interoperability, and cloud modernization.

The Enterprise Data Architect will define and implement frameworks that unify diverse data sources into an Integrated Data Environment (IDE), supporting real-time insights and advanced analytics across a multi-business operating model that includes customer-facing, transactional, and operational domains. Information security, governance, and compliance are foundational to all architectural decisions in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide data architecture strategy, standards, and reference models aligned with business and technology objectives

• Design, optimize, and govern data architectures supporting EDW, ODS, CDP, and enterprise integration frameworks

• Lead cloud and data modernization initiatives, including hybrid cloud and platform migration strategies

• Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, lineage, and metadata management practices

• Embed security-by-design principles across data platforms and support ongoing risk and compliance assessments

• Enable advanced analytics, real-time reporting, and AI/ML initiatives through scalable data pipelines and streaming architectures

• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable, scalable data solutions

• Monitor, tune, and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

• Evaluate emerging data technologies and architectural patterns (e.g., data mesh, data fabric, generative AI) and lead proofs of concept

• Mentor and guide data engineering and analytics teams, establishing best practices and a center of excellence for enterprise data architecture

• Perform additional duties as needed to support broader organizational initiatives

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline

Experience

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise-level data architecture, data engineering, or closely related roles

• Experience supporting complex, multi-line business environments preferred

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in data integration, enterprise data architecture, and governance frameworks

• Proficiency with Microsoft-based data technologies, including SQL Server, SSIS, and Power BI

• Experience with enterprise data warehousing, streaming platforms, and customer data platforms

• Hands-on experience designing and supporting hybrid cloud data architectures

Certifications

• Relevant cloud, data, or architecture certifications are a plus

Soft Skills

• Proven ability to lead technically while collaborating across business and IT teams

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment

• Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, security, and data governance standards

• Willingness to participate in a rotational 24/7 on-call support schedule
