Job Title: ERP Manager
Location: Syracuse, NY (On-Site)
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 annually depending on experience


About the Role:

We are seeking an ERP Manager to oversee a critical ERP modernization effort, migrating from on-prem to a cloud-based platform. This highly visible position reports directly to the Director of IT and plays a strategic role in guiding ERP-related decision-making, configuration, implementation, and support.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on ERP experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage a growing team in a fast-paced environment. Prior applications development experience, particularly in .NET and C#, is highly desired to help bridge ERP and custom applications. This role is in-person only and requires the ability to learn and understand the current ERP environment quickly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a 9-person ERP/solutions team, including a mix of junior and tenured staff

  • Collaborate closely with 6 solution analysts who handle daily business interactions

  • Be a hands-on player/coach — able to dig into the technical side and also manage team performance

  • Own ERP lifecycle: gap analysis, vendor discussions, configuration decisions, and solution delivery

  • Serve as liaison between business units and IT; must be able to “sell” the logic behind ERP decisions

  • Drive ERP platform migration efforts; experience with cloud transitions is a major plus

  • Coordinate maintenance, enhancement planning, and internal training initiatives

  • Minimize reliance on ERP vendors—drive internal configuration and support as much as possible

  • Create documentation, ensure continuity, and guide solution direction with minimal hand-holding

  • Report directly to the Director of IT


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field

Experience:

  • 4+ years of ERP-related leadership experience (hands-on and strategic)

  • Experience with ERP platforms

  • Prior applications development experience in .NET and C# preferred

  • Experience managing mixed-seniority technical teams

  • Prior involvement in ERP platform migrations strongly preferred

Technical Skills:

  • ERP configuration and support

  • ERP cloud migration and implementation

  • Application development (.NET, C#) a strong plus

  • Familiarity with manufacturing or distribution operations and related ERP modules

  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Certifications:

  • Relevant ERP or project management certifications are a plus but not required

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—must interface with technical and business stakeholders

  • Ability to clearly justify recommendations and gain stakeholder buy-in

  • Comfortable in a visible, accountable role

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, not reliant on vendor handholding
