About the Role:
An established, growth-oriented organization is seeking an RPG Programmer to join its Information Technology team. This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys a mix of programming, system support, and hands-on IT work. You’ll collaborate with management, end-users, and vendors to build, enhance, and maintain business-critical systems that keep operations running smoothly.
You’ll work with both modern and legacy technologies—supporting applications in environments such as IBM iSeries/DB2, while also contributing to new development and data integration efforts that drive efficiency and insight across the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and modify computer programs based on business and project requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance existing internal and vendor-supported applications, including legacy RPG systems.
  • Collaborate with business teams and vendors to clarify technical needs and validate system accuracy.
  • Test, debug, and document program updates prior to deployment.
  • Assist with data acquisition, reporting, and analytics initiatives across departments.
  • Maintain system documentation, development records, and configuration logs.
  • Support end-users with application functionality and system access.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting for hardware and coordinate vendor support.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and development best practices.
  • Contribute to departmental projects and broader IT initiatives.

Qualifications
Education & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, or SQL.
  • Experience with RPG programming and IBM iSeries/DB2 environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, and general IT infrastructure.
  • Exposure to data analytics, healthcare systems, or regulated environments a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of database structures, scripting, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation habits.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work cross-functionally.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Extended periods of computer-based work.
  • Occasional bending, reaching, or kneeling as required for IT support tasks.
