Job Title: Validation Technician (Cable Harness Assembly)
Location: Syracuse, NY – On-site
Job Type: Contract, up to 12 weeks
Salary Range: $25.00–$30.00/hour depending on experience
About the Role:
A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a Validation Technician to support an immediate, time-sensitive project focused on cable harness assembly, test fixture support, and validation-related work. This contract assignment is expected to last 8 to 12 weeks and is intended to help reduce a current backlog. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on technical assembly experience who can contribute quickly in a structured lab or test environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Build cable harnesses, wire harnesses, test fixtures, and test boxes accurately to project requirements

Use hand assembly tools, hand crimping tools, and soldering irons to complete assigned work

Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical documentation, specifications, and basic schematics

Assist with installation, maintenance, repair, and validation of test equipment and related components

Support small testing-related projects and process documentation improvements with the engineering team

Review testing requirements and instructions before execution

Perform basic electrical, mechanical, and environmental testing as needed

Document test procedures and results according to schedules and predefined acceptance criteria

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab or testing environment
Qualifications:
Education:
-
Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent related technical background preferred
Experience:
-
At least 1 year of experience in a test, lab, assembly, or equipment-related environment preferred

Hands-on experience with cable assembly, harness building, crimping, or soldering strongly preferred
-
Experience in electronics assembly, test technician, lab support, engineering technician, or similar environments is highly relevant
Technical Skills:

Ability to read technical drawings, engineering documentation, and basic electrical schematics

Experience using common electrical test equipment, such as a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and power supply, is helpful

Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to clearly and accurately document testing procedures and results
