Location: On-site, Syracuse, NY
Job Type: Contract
Pay Rate: $38–$40/hr, depending on experience

About the Role

A growing organization is seeking an Endpoint Engineer to support endpoint administration, device deployment, imaging, mobile device management, and desktop/mobile support initiatives. This is a contract opportunity expected to run approximately four months, with potential for extension or conversion based on business need and performance.

The role will start heavily focused on cleanup, organization, and endpoint environment stabilization, then transition into ongoing deployment and support of desktops and mobile devices. This is a strong fit for someone with hands-on Microsoft Intune experience, solid Group Policy knowledge, and the ability to support endpoint management in a professional business environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support desktop and mobile device environments using Microsoft Intune.
  • Assist with device imaging, deployment, configuration, and ongoing support.
  • Administer endpoint policies, profiles, and device management standards.
  • Support Group Policy administration and endpoint configuration needs.
  • Help clean up, organize, and improve the existing endpoint management environment.
  • Deploy and support desktops, laptops, and mobile devices for end users.
  • Troubleshoot endpoint-related issues across hardware, software, access, configuration, and device management tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to endpoint processes, device standards, and support procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to improve endpoint reliability, consistency, and user support.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent hands-on IT endpoint, desktop engineering, or systems administration experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant IT endpoint, desktop engineering, systems administration, or device management experience.
  • Experience with device imaging, desktop deployment, and endpoint configuration.
  • Experience administering and supporting desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Prior experience supporting endpoint cleanup, standardization, deployment, or stabilization initiatives preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site during the initial phase of the assignment.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on Microsoft Intune experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Group Policy administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows endpoints, mobile devices, applications, access issues, and device management tools.
  • Experience with VMware Workspace ONE / AirWatch preferred.
  • SharePoint administration or support experience preferred.
  • Ability to document endpoint processes, support procedures, device standards, and configuration details.

Certifications

  • Microsoft, CompTIA, or related IT certifications preferred but not required.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to clean up and standardize technical environments.
  • Professional communication skills with both technical teams and end users.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with other IT team members.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a contract-based support environment.
