Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 annually depending on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support the reliability, security, and performance of enterprise network infrastructure and business-critical systems within a manufacturing environment. This hands-on role will serve as the technical owner for assigned infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability, operational efficiency, and compliance with organizational standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal IT teams and external service providers to maintain and enhance the organization’s technology environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day server operations, including performance monitoring, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Plan, coordinate, and perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, updates, and patch management activities.
- Administer and support network infrastructure across multiple locations, including switches, VLANs, wireless networks, firewalls, and site-to-site VPN connectivity.
- Develop and implement standards for infrastructure selection, deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Maintain compliance with software licensing requirements and hardware/software support agreements.
- Monitor and track system downtime, infrastructure incidents, equipment failures, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with managed service providers and internal IT teams to resolve infrastructure-related issues and maintain system health.
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of mission-critical IT resources.
- Maintain, update, and conduct annual testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure diagrams.
- Provide mentoring, training, and knowledge transfer to IT team members.
- Participate in after-hours and on-call support rotations as required.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience administering and supporting Windows Server environments and enterprise network infrastructure.
- Experience supporting multi-site network environments in manufacturing, industrial, or similar business settings preferred.
- Proven experience managing infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system deployments.
- Experience working with managed service providers and third-party vendors.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2019 or newer.
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Solid understanding of network technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, wireless networking, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft server technologies.
- Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, performance management, and security best practices.
- Experience troubleshooting complex server, network, and connectivity issues.
Certifications
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
