Job Title: Software Developer
Location: Syracuse, NY (On-site, 5 days per week)
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Salary Range: $95,000–$105,000 annually depending on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking a Software Developer to join a growing development team responsible for supporting, enhancing, and modernizing business-critical applications. This position offers the opportunity to work across both established and emerging technologies while contributing to application modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with technical team members and business stakeholders to maintain existing systems, develop new solutions, and help transition legacy applications to modern architectures and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing .NET-based applications.
- Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver software solutions.
- Participate in modernization initiatives involving legacy applications and systems.
- Design, develop, test, and support web-based applications and API-driven solutions.
- Analyze technical issues and implement scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist with migration projects involving legacy platforms and contemporary development frameworks.
- Support software testing, deployment, and ongoing production maintenance activities.
- Document technical solutions, processes, and application enhancements.
- Work effectively within a collaborative development environment focused on delivering high-quality software.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Experience
- Approximately 2–3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing existing business applications.
- Experience participating in software development projects within a collaborative team environment.
- Exposure to application modernization, migration, or transformation initiatives preferred.
- Experience supporting both legacy and modern technology environments is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Experience developing applications using C# and .NET technologies.
- Knowledge of .NET Framework and related application development practices.
- Experience with web application development.
- Familiarity with API development and integration concepts.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Exposure to modern software architectures, frameworks, and development practices preferred.
- Ability to quickly learn and support unfamiliar technologies and applications.
Certifications
- Relevant Microsoft or software development certifications are a plus but not required.
Soft Skills
